In celebration of the World Teachers’ Day and National Teachers’ Month, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) has accorded the Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) the Partner in TVET Trainers Development Award during the recently concluded Tagsanay Awards 2025. The event was held on October 20, 2025 at the National TVET Trainers Academy (NTTA) in Marikina City.
Prof. Naeem Yaqoob, Faculty Specialist, received the award on behalf of the CPSC Director General, Prof. (Dr.) Suresh K. Dhameja. He was accompanied by the Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC) Officer, Ms. Julifer Madeja, and Research, Publications, and Information Division (RPID) Officer, Ms. Arlene Monge.
With the theme “Ikalabing-isang Taon ng Pagkilala sa Natatanging Tagsanay ng Makabagong TVET”, this year’s ceremony brought both honor and recognition to outstanding TVET trainers and institutional partners as they empower the TVET community through their innovation, dedication, and excellence in advancing the technical and vocational education and training in the Philippines.
Now on its 11th year, TESDA welcomed 13 exceptional finalists hailing from the different TVET institutions around the Philippines as they vie for the title of the National Tagsanay Award Champion for 2025. These tagsanay finalists underwent the rigorous selection process in which they were subjected to different learning and mentoring activities under the scrutiny of TESDA officials and industry experts. Part of this journey were worthwhile yet challenging undertakings that tested their abilities in several TVET-related competencies such as demonstration of teaching methodologies, presentation of innovative training practices, and assessments in data gathering, analysis, and synthesis, presentation, innovation, green competencies, critical thinking, and creativity. Through these assessments, the finalists were evaluated not only on their technical proficiency but also on their ability to adapt to emerging trends and technologies in their respective fields.
To all the awardees of the Tagsanay Awards 2025, the CPSC family extends its heartfelt congratulations on this remarkable feat. We commend you for your unwavering spirit, steadfast passion, and utmost excellence in championing lifelong learning as we continue to uplift and inspire our fellow tagsanay in the TVET sector.
