PARTICIPANTS' PROFILE:The program is designed for 15 officials from government ministries/departments, project agencies, and other institutions overseeing the planning and implementation of TVET projects.

Introduction

Among the more contemporary practices in modern management is project management. Projects are the most concrete means of translating plans and policies into specific courses of action. It is a temporary management activity that breaks up upon completion of the defined outputs. It ensures tight planning and controlling and is brought about by the efficient and harmonious coordination of the skills and energies of different specialists working in it. Understanding the principles and practice of project management would definitely help further improve the planning and implementation of projects in various institutions.

Objectives

The program aims for the participants to:

  • Learn the dynamics, definitions and processes in project management;
  • Understand project planning, project implementation and project evaluation as key phases in project management;
  • Prepare project problem tree analysis, objective and solution;
  • Design project proposal using the project log framework matrix; and
  • Apply project management tools and methodologies for managing TVET programs and projects.

This program will cover the following contents:

Presentations

  • Presentation 1: Development, Issues and Challenges on Project Management in TVET
  • Presentation 2: Project and the Project Cycle
  • Presentation 3: Stakeholder Analysis
  • Presentation 4: Project Problem Tree Analysis, Objective and Solution Tree Analysis
  • Presentation 5: The Project Logical Framework
  • Presentation 6: Project Evaluation

Group Work Activities:

  • GWA 1: Interactive Activity
  • GWA 2: Stakeholder Analysis
  • GWA 3: Problem Tree, Objective and Solution Tree


Expected Outputs and Outcomes

  • Project Cycles and Stakeholders’ Importance on the success of the Project
  • Project Log Frame
  • Group Proposal and Implementation Plan in (TVET) Projects
  • Trained participants on Project Management in TVET
