Background

The dawn of the Fifth Industrial Revolution marks a paradigm shift toward human-centered innovation, where technology and sustainability converge to create inclusive, adaptive, and future-ready societies. In this evolving landscape, quality assurance in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) must transcend traditional compliance and embrace transformation.

As industries and education systems undergo digital integration, TVET institutions are called to align their programs, systems, and governance with the demands of Industry 5.0 where automation, artificial intelligence, and human creativity coexist. Within this context, the Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC) enters a new era, strengthening its framework to inspire continuous improvement, innovation, and institutional resilience across the region.

The international webinar serves as a platform to explore how the revitalized APACC framework can drive TVET transformation specifically in moving from the traditional accreditation as a process of evaluation to a catalyst for excellence, innovation, and sustainability.

Focus of the Webinar

The webinar will highlight how quality assurance and accreditation mechanisms, particularly the renewed APACC framework, can help TVET institutions achieve excellence in the Industry 5.0 era. It will discuss the evolving standards and indicators that promote innovation, inclusivity, and resilience within institutions while aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially:

  • SDG 4: Quality Education - ensuring that TVET institutions deliver inclusive, future-ready, and human-centered learning.
  • SSDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth - preparing the workforce for sustainable employment in digitally enabled industries.
  • SSDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure - strengthening institutional systems to support innovation and industrial partnerships.
  • SSDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production - promoting sustainable practices and green transitions in TVET operations.

Through presentations and discussions, the webinar will examine strategies for transforming accreditation into a driver of institutional excellence by showcasing how APACC’s new standards align with Industry 5.0 principles and the global movement toward sustainable, human-centered development.

Objectives

  • Present the revitalized APACC framework and its alignment with Industry 5.0, highlighting new dimensions of quality, digitization and innovation.
  • Strengthen understanding of how accreditation serves as a tool for institutional transformation beyond compliance.
  • Share best practices from APACC-accredited institutions that have leveraged quality assurance to improve performance, governance, and sustainability.
  • Foster regional collaboration and dialogue on advancing TVET excellence through innovative, human-centered, and future-ready quality systems.

Target Participants

  • The webinar aims to promote best practices on advancing quality assurance and institutional transformation in TVET through the revitalized APACC framework. It seeks to impart knowledge to TVET leaders, administrators, educators, trainers, curriculum developers, researchers, and quality assurance managers, including practitioners and academicians in the TVET field, as well as policymakers and industry partners engaged in promoting innovation, sustainability, and excellence in the era of Industry 5.0.

Date and Time

The webinar is scheduled on November 28, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM (Philippine time), and will be conducted via CPSC Zoom Platform
