
The Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) and Labtech International Ltd., in collaboration with the Department of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (DTVET), Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), jointly conducted the Online In-Country Program for Myanmar on Training of Trainers on Electrical Basics Using Virtual TVET. A total of 30 TVET instructors, teachers, and trainers participated in the program from February 18 to 21, 2025 via Zoom platform.
The program aimed to introduce TVET Learning Management System (LMS) and Virtual TVET Digital Learning Content, with integration into classroom learning and course management. The four-day online training was supervised by Prof. Dr. Suresh Kumar Dhameja, CPSC Director General; Dr. Steven McKee, Labtech International Ltd. President and Founder; and Dr. Nyan Win Than, DTVET Deputy Director General.



During the program inauguration, Prof. Dr. Dhameja extended his warm welcome to all participants and distinguished resource persons for this online training. He also thanked Hon. San Yu Kyaw, Chargé d'Affaires and Minister Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in the Philippines for agreeing to CPSC request to be the Chief Guest on the occasion and also highlighted the strong support of esteemed member country Myanmar to CPSC. Prof. Dhameja also conveyed his appreciation to Labtech and DTVET for their invaluable efforts and collaboration in organizing the program. Following his remarks, Dr. McKee provided a short presentation on “Future of TVET using the Power of Digital Learning.” He also wished the participants a productive online training. Meanwhile, on behalf of DTVET, Dr. Nyan Win Than expressed his gratitude towards CPSC and Labtech for its continuous support in the skill development of Myanmar’s TVET educators.

The program was further honored by Hon. San Yu Kyaw, Chargé d'Affaires and Minister Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in the Philippines, who delivered the welcome address as the Chief Guest of the program.

The four-day training consisted of lectures and workshops facilitated by Mr. Ian Andrew, Labtech Consultant and TVET Specialist, and Mr. Brad Ker, General Manager of Labtech Academy. The sessions covered topics on digital TVET framework, delivery of competency-based training using TVET LMS, and creating lesson plans using digital technology.
The training program concluded with a closing ceremony held on February 21, 2025. Selected participants provided feedback and insights into their learning experience from the training program. The participants also thanked Mr. Andrew and Mr. Brad Ker for their guidance throughout the sessions. Furthermore, the Program Summary was presented by Mr. Andrew, who reiterated the important points of the training and walked through the evaluation results. Lastly, Prof. Dr. Dhameja and Dr. Nyan Win Than delivered their closing remarks and congratulated the participants for completing the four-day online training.
