Background
Knowledge of research methodology is a vital approach to collecting data and information. Research methodology is simply defined as how a researcher systematically designs a study to ensure valid and reliable research aims and objectives. Consequently, the methods will be beneficial during the preparation, development, and discussions related to technical vocational studies and beyond.
The correct choice of research methodology helps determine the success and overall quality of your research study and its documentation. Furthermore, becoming familiar with the research methods used by an area of study allows you to understand it more effectively. In other words, research methodology refers to the specific processes or techniques used to locate, choose, process, and analyze information related to a subject. The methodology section of a research paper allows the reader to assess, and study overall validity and reliability critically.
Appropriate selection of a research methodology also involves scrutinizing and considering the approaches other researchers used in the discipline or studies with similar aims and objectives. Researchers in similar disciplines often use a shared methodological approach or set of approaches methodological approaches will provide the most scientifically rigorous research design theoretically, and the possibility of constraints faced practically cannot be overlooked. Each research in any field, irrespective of its type (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed), has a different purpose and approach that helps solve its question. Therefore, the key factor for deciding which research methodology to adopt depends on the nature of your research aims, objectives, and research questions. TVET sector research and publication is one of the main key elements that need to be focused on. Proper documentation via publication will produce quality institutions via recognized accreditation for an organization. The research can be carried out using proper research methodology techniques and methods to find the needs and importance for a country.
CPSC in collaboration with the Department of Workforce Planning and Skills Development, Ministry of Education and Skills Development, Royal Government of Bhutan organizes this five (5) day in-country program to assist TVET leaders and teachers in identifying key issues and promote a research culture that enhances knowledge and awareness among TVET practitioners in Bhutan.
