As part of his objective in visiting the members of the CPSC Governing Board, the CPSC Director General Prof. G.L.D. Wickramasinghe paid his courtesy visit to the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in Taguig City, Philippines on October 25, 2021. He was welcomed by key officials led by the Director General, Sec. Isidro S. Lapeña. TESDA is the main government agency responsible for the management and implementation of TVET programs and operations in the Philippines.

During his visit, he formally and personally introduced himself to Sec. Lapeña and to the TESDA officials in attendance including Ms. Rosalina Constantino, Executive Director of the Planning Office; Ms. Lina C. Sarmiento, Deputy Director General for TESD Operations; and Ms. Juliet Orozco, Director IV of the Administrative Service. He also extended his appreciation to the Government of the Philippines through TESDA for its continued support to the Staff College. He also apprised the officials of the current status of the Philippines’ recent participation in CPSC programs and presented some of the programs that the Staff College has lined up for its member countries and for TESDA, which includes Regional and In-Country Program.

His visit was successful as he was able to obtain the affirmation of support from TESDA officials particularly on CPSC’s recent program offerings, which the officials cited as necessary and timely. Sec. Lapeña also commended CPSC's support in TESDA’s training programs through the years.
