The newly-appointed Director General of the Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC), Prof. G.L.D. Wickramasinghe was received by H.E. Gerard Ho Wei Hong, the Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore in the Philippines, during his courtesy visit to the Ambassador’s official residence on October 18, 2021. Present in the meeting as well are Singapore Embassy’s First Secretary (Political) Mr. Huang Zi, and CPSC Executive Secretary Mr. Jan Michael Marasigan.

Prof. Wickramasinghe extended his appreciation on behalf of CPSC to the Government of Singapore through Ambassador Ho for their continued support to the endeavors of the Staff College even during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also discussed Singapore’s participation in CPSC programs, particularly the Regional Programs that CPSC has been conducting with Singapore through the Singapore Cooperation Program (SCP), which are being conducted at least once a year and have been benefiting the CPSC member countries for at least 13 years. Prof. Wickramasinghe also laid out the future plans of his leadership for CPSC.

In return, Ambassador Gerard Ho expressed the commitment of the Singapore Embassy in providing assistance to CPSC’s future activities with Singaporean TVET agencies and institutions. He also encouraged CPSC to conduct more valuable programs to maintain the interest of the member countries, especially Singapore. Further, he particularly suggested tapping the Business Process Outsource (BPO) and the healthcare sectors for programs that will be organized in the Philippines as they are considered as some of the country’s primary industries.
