
The Don Bosco-One TVET Policy Forum 2025 welcomes a diverse set of participants who are all eager to share their expertise and experience on enhancing the quality of TVET in the Philippines
Showcasing its full support in empowering and capacitating the local and international TVET communities through the effective exchange of information and best practices, the Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) recently participated in the Don Bosco-One TVET Policy Forum 2025 at Hotel Makati Diamond Residences, Metro Manila on October 8, 2025. With the theme, “Reshaping Philippine TVET: National Structural Reforms, Policy Adoption, and Resilience Models for a Future-Ready System”, the event brought together a diverse group of participants including national policy makers, international TVET institutions, TVET policy makers, Don Bosco TVET centers, industry associations, private sector representatives, and development partners.
Among the key leaders who participated in the forum were TESDA Director General Hon. Jose Francisco “Kiko” Benitez, Dr. Desiderio R. Apag III of CHED, Dr. Jaya Priya Kasinathan of SEAMEO Voctech, DepEd Director Mr. Marc Magsalin, and Fr. Jeffrey Mangubat, SDB, Regional Director, Don Bosco-One TVET Philippines, Inc. They joined CPSC Director General Prof. (Dr.) Suresh K. Dhameja as panelists during the main plenary session.

Aside from speaking during the panel discussion, Dr. Dhameja also delivered a presentation during the breakout session, highlighting CPSC’s perspectives on institutional resilience and financial sustainability in TVET. He discussed adaptive strategies for strengthening institutions amid economic, policy, and health-related challenges, emphasizing collaboration with industry and communities, inclusivity for marginalized learners, and the integration of innovative practices. The session focused on approaches that enable TVET institutions to sustain quality training despite financial or operational vulnerabilities. By fostering resilience, innovation, and long-term financial sustainability, TVET institutions can ensure continuity in skills delivery, remain aligned with evolving labor market demands, and contribute to workforce competitiveness both domestically and internationally.


The Don Bosco-One TVET Policy Forum 2025 provided a significant venue for exchanging perspectives and approaches focused on resilience, sustainability, and innovation within the TVET sector. Through initiatives like these, CPSC remains committed to reinforcing institutional capacity, advancing workforce preparedness, and promoting collaborative efforts throughout the Asia Pacific region.
