The CPSC Director General Prof. G.L.D Wickramasinghe paid his courtesy visit to the Department of Foreign Affairs – Office of United Nations and International Organizations (DFA-UNIO) of the Philippines on October 13, 2021 to formally present himself as the newly designated official of CPSC. He was welcomed by Hon. Noralyn Jubaira-Baja, the Assistant Secretary of the Department.

During the visit, he expressed his gratitude for the facilitation of the approval of his visa and entry to the Philippines despite the pandemic and the challenges due to the imposed travel restrictions. He also discussed matters concerning CPSC’s hosting in the Philippines and possible updates on the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between CPSC and the Government of the Philippines.

They also discussed opportunities for collaboration, specifically tapping the Technical Cooperation Council of the Philippines (TCCP) in conducting capacity-building programs. They also explored the possibility of the establishment of the South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) Facility in the Philippines, which can be initiated by CPSC, in order to bring together common concerns with regards to this advocacy.
