In further intensifying partnership and cooperation between the Colombo Plan Staff College for Technician Education (CPSC) and the Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT) a Customized Program on English Training and International Experience for RMUTT’s Support Staff commenced Monday, July 8, 2013 at CPSC, Manila. This program marks the continuing collaborative undertakings in capacity building on educational leadership and international experience between the two institutions.

The program is designed to meet specific needs of RMUTT in enhancing communication skills in gearing towards actively participating in the ASEAN community by developing the English language proficiency of educational institutions through the provision of extensive activities on English language and learning from international experiences. RMUTT is one of the several campuses of the Rajamangala University of Technology (RMUT) Systems.

In his welcome remarks, CPSC Director General Dr. Mohammad Naim Yaakub, conveyed his warmest appreciation to RMUTT, through Dr. Paiboon Saiyawongs, Assistant to the RMUTT President, for jointly holding the program with CPSC and for the trust and confidence accorded to CPSC by the Government of Thailand through its education sector. A few months ago, CPSC successfully conducted a Customized program on Educational Leadership for the RMUT. This indicates, he said, that CPSC has been effectively imparting capacity development programs to its member countries.

Dr. Saiyawongs, on the other hand, extended RMUTT’s deep gratitude to CPSC for supporting them in their goal for their staff’s further skills advancement efforts. He also expressed their admiration and gratification on how CPSC continues to deliver its quality services to its member countries like Thailand particularly its training programs.

Special lectures and various learning exercises fill the activities of the program for the 23 RMUTT participants who are comprised of planning, education, finance, administrative officers and an IT specialist. The program also provides understanding on the global, regional and country-based educational management trends and their implications for sustainable human resources development in the ASEAN countries context; modern educational management concepts, practices and their application; and the procedures and requirements for establishing Quality Management System.

Dr. Naim, leads the overall management of the program as Program Supervisor. Dr. Godelyn Hisole, CPSC Faculty Specialist and Dr. Mohamad Hisyam Mohd Hashim, CPSC Short-Term Consultant, co-coordinate the program as Program Coordinators who both act as Resource Persons as well. Dr. Hazrat Hussain, CPSC Faculty Consultant, acts as Resource Person.
