Sealing off fiscal year 2012-2013 and welcoming new fiscal year with a big bang is the conferment by Certification International’s (UK Ltd.) recertification of CPSC's Quality Management Systems (QMS) under ISO 9001:2008, by virtue of the successful result and completion of the Third Reassessment Surveillance Audit conducted by Certification International Philippines (CIP) on April 5, 2013.

The Certificate, valid from June 14, 2013 until June 13, 2016, affirms CPSC's consistent conformance of its QMS to ISO standards 9001:2008 covering varied scope of its services as follows: "Planning, designing, organizing, conducting, evaluating and improving demand-driven training programmes and projects in technical and vocational education and training (TVET), research, consultancy, information and communication and technology and media and special human resource development services."

The CI Auditors during the Surveillance and Reassessment Audit found out that "The quality plan of CPSC as described in its Quality Manual is actively maintained, with evidences of continual improvements consistent with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008…. The Quality Policy, enunciated by the Director General, is demonstrated to be fulfilled through Quality Objectives and Targets as well as performance measures under various Strategic Goals defined by five (5) year Plan. Performance reports based on annual operation plans are submitted to the Governing Board. External customer satisfaction measures are within targeted goals of ISO."

The CPSC team of faculty and staff led by the CPSC Director General, Dr. Mohammad Naim Yaakub were in full force as each one handled the actual audit with immense optimism and enthusiasm during the reassessment audit. The external audit also proved as a perfect platform to showcase evidences of continual improvements in every aspect of CPSC's quality systems and services. The Director General was assisted by Dr. Hazrat Hussain, Quality Management Representative, Dr. Godelyn Hisole, Internal Quality Audit Chair and Arlene Cruz, Document Controller in the preparations of logistics during the conduct of the audit.

Critical assessments, validation and investigations on the different areas of planning and implementation phases in the varied scope of CPSC services were carried out by the CIP auditors headed by Mr. Renato Navarrete, Lead Auditor with Team Member Mr. Arnel Guevara. The auditors affirmed strength of CPSC's QMS which were highlighted by notable improvements on particular areas of services while suggestions on opportunities for improvement were also forwarded during the audit.

The reassessment audit comprehensively covered different areas of CPSC's QMS namely: Policy Formulation; Management Systems Operations and Control (MSOC)-Membership Management, Finance and Procurement; MSOC-Human Resources and Document Records and Control; Program Planning and Implementation (PPI)-Training and Development and Projects and Consultancy; PPI and Resource Management (RM)–Information and Communications Technology and Media Services; RM-General Services; RM-Information and Publications Development; Evaluation Review and Improvement (ERI)-Internal Quality Audit/Continuous Process Improvement.

Dr. Naim commended the CPSC team for the hard work and teamwork not only during the audit but in every step of its quality journey that has continually made CPSC worthy of the trust and confidence of its member countries. He enjoined all the faculty and staff to continue pursuing continual improvements in every area of CPSC’s QMS and aspire to do better in accomplishing each task while CPSC looks forward to the next five years of continued quality services to its member countries.
