CPSC Conducts Customized Program for Thailand, Renews MOU with RMUTT CPSC's Customized Program on "Building Capacity in Educational Leadership and Management in the ASEAN Community" kicked off on October 15, 2012 at CPSC, Manila, Philippines with 22-strong participants composed of educators from nine different campuses of Rajamangala University of Technology System (RMUT). The delegation was led by the University President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Numyoot Songthanapitak.

The Director General of CPSC, Dr. Mohammad Naim Yaakub led the Faculty and staff in welcoming the President of RMUT and the university's academic team at the inaugural ceremonies of the week long program. Dr. Naim extended CPSC's profound gratitude to member country Thailand through RMUT for the confidence it has continually bestowed upon CPSC since they rejoined CPSC in 2008. He added that CPSC, putting premium to quality, having been recently confirmed for continued ISO 9001:2008 certification, is committed to provide and deliver quality programs for RMUT through the said Customized program. The Director General also underscored that the program symbolizes CPSC's strong ties with RMUT.

In his special message, Dr. Songthanapitak said that RMUT believes that CPSC will be able to assist in attaining their teaching staff development objectives, particularly in gaining better understanding on educational leadership and management in the perspective of ASEAN community, keeping in view aspirations of Thai Education Society. He said that it is always a pleasure for him to know that CPSC is with RMUT in every step of the way, especially as Thailand gets ready to face the challenge in education by 2015. Further, he said that it gives him pride to be instrumental in convincing the Ministry of Education of Thailand to rejoin CPSC. Dr. Hazrat Hussain, CPSC Faculty Consultant, also acting as Resource Person and Coordinator of the Customized Program, with other Resource Persons like Dr. Romulita Alto, former CPSC Faculty Consultant and Research Consultant at the Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP), Philippines, Mr. Jonas George Soriano Managing Director Institute of Productivity and Quality, Development Academy of the Philippines, Philippines and Dr. Alice Pa¤ares, Education Consultant of the Department of Education, Philippines imparted their knowledge and skills on the following areas: challenges in education, concepts of educational management, approaches and quality instruction, global, regional and country-based educational management trends and their implications towards the realization of the ASEAN Community 2015.

Another highlight of the inaugural ceremonies was the renewal of cooperation between CPSC and of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) by Dr. Naim, representing CPSC and Dr. Songthanapitak on behalf of RMUTT. The signing was witnessed by Dr. Hazrat, and Dr. Paiboon Saiyawong, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, RMUTT. The renewed MOU will ensure continued and reinvigorated partnership between CPSC and RMUTT.

At the closing ceremonies, CPSC was honored with the presence of Hon. Rooge Thammongkol, Minister Counsellor and Consul, Royal Thai Embassy in Manila who expressed his appreciation to CPSC on behalf of the Royal Thai Embassy for taking care of the participants from Thailand. The Embassy had shown full support to CPSC throughout the duration of the Customized Program. The program officially ends on the 19th of October.
