Background
The Asia-Pacific region is undergoing rapid technological, economic, and social transformation, presenting both opportunities and challenges for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). Across the 16 member countries of the Colombo Plan Staff College, TVET institutions are vital in equipping learners with the skills, knowledge, and values needed for sustainable development.
To respond to the evolving needs of the workforce, TVET must integrate innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity into curricula, pedagogy, and institutional practices. This aligns with the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda, supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): quality education (SDG 4), decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), innovation and resilient infrastructure (SDG 9), reduced inequalities (SDG 10), and climate action (SDG 13).
This webinar offers a platform for educators, policymakers, and practitioners from member countries to share experiences, evidence-based strategies, and innovations that advance transformative TVET practices. By fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange, the session aims to strengthen TVET’s role as a driver of sustainable, inclusive, and future-ready workforce development across the region.
