A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was established by the Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) and the National Institute for Development of Teachers, Faculty, Staff and Educational Personnel (NIDTEP), Thailand. The ceremony was attended by officials from both organizations and was held through a virtual ceremony on February 17, 2022.

Representing CPSC is the Director General, Prof. G.L.D. Wickramasinghe and NIDTEP were represented by the Directors, Dr. Supachai Janpum and Dr. Charoen Puwijit. In addition to the main officials, key special guests were also invited during the ceremony, including Ms. Duriya Amatavivat, Senior Advisor for International Cooperation, Ministry of Education, Thailand.

The partnership was fulfilled to explore opportunities for both organizations to capitalize on their common aspiration to further advance the human resources development of the region, most especially in Thailand. It was also held to formalize the cooperation of both organizations and discuss possible avenues and plans for collaboration. Possibilities for joint program coordination and other plans for 2022 were briefly discussed during the meeting, in addition to the sharing of relevant information between the two parties.

NIDTEP was established in 1979 and currently functions as the leading organization for the development of teachers and educational personnel under the purview of the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Thailand. It is responsible for developing teachers and educational personnel in various fields such as competency development, research and development, international collaborative exchange, and other relevant training services.
