The Director General of the Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC), while supervising the on-site visits to three Malaysian premier polytechnics by the accreditation arm of CPSC, the Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC), met various officials from the Ministry of Education (MoE) and Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP), Ministry of Foreign Affairs to pursue collaborative programs and discuss other areas for collaboration.

On February 18, 2014, the DG met the Director of the Technical and Vocational Education Division of MoE, Y. Bhg. Dato Ahmad Tajudin Jab. The DG apprised him on the latest activities of CPSC and discussed about the participation of MoE officers and staff in CPSC programs, possible collaboration on an international conference, and faculty secondment to CPSC by the Malaysian government.

Coming on the heels of a successful regional program with MTCP on Economic Planning and Management last September 12 – October 4, 2013, a meeting with Ms. Sharifah Ezneeda Wafa, Director of MTCP and Mr. Hamdan Hashim of Centre for Instructor & Advanced Skill Training (CIAST) was held at MTCP Office on February 21, 2014. The parties discussed the possibility of a joint training program on Automotive (Vehicle Electrical, Engine Management System and Introduction to Hybrid Technology) to be held sometime in November to December 2014. Participants of the program will be representatives from CPSC member countries. The final dates, criteria for selection of participants, and other details will be deliberated through communications prior to program implementation.
