His Excellency Dato’ Mohd Zamri Bin Mohd Kassim, CPSC's newest Governing Board member and Ambassador of Malaysia to the Philippines, officiated the closing ceremonies of the CPSC Senior Administrators’ Conference (SAC) on April 17, 2013 at CPSC, Manila, Philippines. The Ambassador with the Director General, Dr. Naim Yaakub, presented certificates of recognition to the participating senior administrators who firmed up the CPSC Corporate Plan 2013-2018, ready to be placed for the CPSC Governing Board’s confirmation at the Board’s next session.

The Ambassador congratulated CPSC for truly living up to a consultative process of laying down new aspirations of enhancing TVET in the region for the next five years. In addition, he said that the synergistic efforts of the member country representatives in drawing up new directions for CPSC definitely ensures that the new corporate plan take into consideration the member countries’ needs along with the current changes and demands in technical education. He commended the team of experts for their critical and thorough validation of a new corporate plan for CPSC- a new CorPlan that will surely propel CPSC into greater heights.

The Director General of CPSC, Dr. Naim Yaakub conveyed high appreciations to His Excellency Dato’ Zamri for gracing the event and the latter’s support to CPSC. He also emphasized his profound gratitude for the meaningful presence and active participation of delegates from the member countries, thus making SAC a historic and momentous event.

He further added that the next five-year CorPlan will focus on inclusiveness, innovation and responsiveness of TVET, while retaining the current thrusts on sustainable development, ICT and quality assurance.

The SAC, held from April 15-17, 2013 is the third of the four-phase CPSC Corporate Planning exercise. The first phase was marked by an online needs survey completed on October 15, 2012. Results of the survey and feedback from member countries were discussed during the second phase that was the Eminent Experts’ Group Meeting (EEGM) held from November 5 to 9, 2012. The eminent experts’ group drafted the CPSC CorPlan 2013-2018 that integrated the results of the survey and feedback from member countries signifying the principle of a consultative process that CPSC adheres to. The drafted CPSC CorPlan 2013-2018 was placed before the delegates of the SAC for checks on coherence, alignment and completeness before tabling it for approval by the CPSC Governing Board (fourth phase) for implementation beginning July 1, 2013.

The three-day conference also featured lead paper presentations by His Excellency Amit Dasgupta, Ambassador of the Republic of India; Dr. Naim Yaakub, CPSC Director-General; and Mr. Ronald Gaspar, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Coordinating Officer and Education Sector Head of the Toyota Motor Foundation of the Philippines.

DG Dr.Naim provided the overall SAC supervision while Dr. Hazrat Hussain, CPSC Faculty Consultant served as Coordinator, assisted by the CPSC Faculty Specialist Dr. Godelyn Hisole. Dr. Hazrat thanked the delegates for their critical reviews and suggestions for refining the new CorPlan.
