On August 4, 2012, the CPSC Director General Dr. Mohammad Naim Yaakub attended *Iftar hosted by ASA Philippines Foundation held at the Prestige Tower, Ortigas Center, Pasig City, Philippines.

Founded by Mr. Kamrul H. Tarafder and Ambassador Howard Dee, ASA Philippines Foundation is a non-profit, non-stock corporation, specializing in microfinance. With services such as loan, capital build-up (savings), insurance benefits and other benefits such as business management trainings, and academic scholarships (for the children of the clients), the relatively new foundation has already expanded its services in the whole Philippines. It has catered to more than 475,000 clients who are called by ASA as Micro Entrepreneurs.

The Director General met ASA’s President Mr. Tarafder, Chairman Mr. Edward Go, and other distinguished guests including Foundation Board Members. One of the discussion points was the ongoing CPSC – India Project on Skills Development for Poverty Alleviation where ASA, as a microfinancing institution, could share their know-how and experiences on ways in obtaining financing for entrepreneurial projects.
