The Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) once again affirmed its strong liaison with the Department of Foreign Affairs - Office of United Nations and International Organizations (DFA-UNIO) on March 31, 2026 during a courtesy visit to the new Assistant Secretary of UNIO-DFA, Hon. Leila C. Lora-Santos.

The CPSC Director General Prof. (Dr.) Suresh K. Dhameja met with Assistant Secretary Lora-Santos and Mr. Ricarte B. Abejuela III, Director of the DFA-UNIO Socio-Cultural Division, to formally welcome the new DFA-UNIO head, who also serves as a member of the CPSC Governing Board.

The visit was aimed as a strategic touchpoint to discuss CPSC’s ongoing and upcoming initiatives, including recent regional programs in Singapore and Sri Lanka. He highlighted the successful conduct of the collaborative CPSC-DFA-UNIO customized training program for Bhutan held in the Philippines. The DG also expressed his gratitude to the Government of the Philippines through the DFA-UNIO for its continued guidance and for its generous support to CPSC.

Discussions further explored future joint programs with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), focusing on technopreneurship, sustainable development, social inclusion and digitization among many other areas, with potential implementation across the Philippines, and countries in the Pacific and in Africa.

Demonstrating CPSC’s continued commitment to advancing TVET across the Asia-Pacific region, the meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties pledging continued collaboration to strengthen regional cooperation and South-South partnerships among member countries.
