The Colombo Plan Staff College, through its Director General Dr. Ramhari Lamichhane, took part in the 7th World Conference on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (WoCTVET) conducted virtually on December 14, 2020.

With the theme “The Future of Work and Learning in Digital Transformation”, the conference aims to serve as a platform for discussion, dissemination and sharing of contemporary research and scientific knowledge and information in the field of teacher education for TVET.

Dr. Lamichhane together with other TVET experts have convened and discussed about preparing the TVET ecosystems for the future in the first forum session. The panelists shared their thoughts on how various stakeholders – most importantly their structures and management – can get ready and adapt to the new global landscape, and address the current and future needs of the local and international labor market.

Now on its 7th edition, the WoCTVET brings together practitioners, researchers, policy makers and educators around the world to share the latest information, valuable knowledge, best practices, and research findings related to TVET. This year’s event was organized by the Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), together with the Malaysia Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training (MyRIVET).
