Background and Focus

CPSC is committed to developing and enhancing the technician education systems of its member countries through the quality education and training in TVET. However, the whole world is nowadays facing an acute pressure due to COVID -19 issue. CPSC therefore wish to continue its efforts towards its commitment as stated above and accordingly take this opportunity to deliver its training program through online mode viz. WEBINAR for the benefits of its stakeholders.

A webinar is an engaging online event where a speaker, or small group of speakers, deliver a presentation to a large audience who participate interactively through a real-time conversation by submitting and responding questions, and using other available interactive tools. Thus, a webinar is a presentation, lecture, workshop or seminar that is transmitted over the Web using video conferencing software. A key feature of a Webinar is its interactive elements i.e. The ability to give, receive and discuss information in real-time.

The Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector aims to provide systematic and orderly transmission of knowledge, skills and values to develop a workforce that is able to enhance productivity and sustain competitiveness in the global economy. TVET is expected to play two crucial roles of providing training opportunities and providing the skilled manpower for sustainable development. Thus, there is the necessity of improvement in three main issues relevance, effectiveness and efficiency of TVET system. TVET qualifications do not solely guarantee economic freedom. Therefore, it is required to devise certain strategies which could lessen the cut throat competition and thereby keep TVET sector attractive, productive as well as relevant.

Therefore, there is a need of some strategy like value innovation which can be a choice between differentiation and low cost that pursue differentiation and low cost simultaneously. It is always better the organizations to redefine the problem, with the intellectual sophistication and technological richness of the innovations. The logic called value innovation is a technique that places equal emphasis on value and innovation and defies one of the most commonly accepted dogmas of competition-based strategy: the value-cost trade-off and is the cornerstone of blue ocean strategy.

Blue Ocean Strategy is the recent concept of intelligent strategic evolution to visualize the ideas and manage the organization and is about creating uncontested market space, making the rivals irrelevant rather than competing with them and conveying the infinite possibilities for profitable growth. Strategic planning is necessary to achieve organizational success based on its internal and external dynamics to develop an edge over the competitors.

In this context, this Webinar on the topic, “Application of Blue Ocean Strategy for TVET Management” has been planned for the TVET teachers of all member countries to discusses some of the basic concepts, principles and to explore the approaches for building and developing an effective and sustainable framework for managing a TVET institute.
