On April 11, 2012, Dr. R. Murugesan, President of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) paid a visit to CPSC headquarters in Manila, Philippines to meet the CPSC Director General, Dr. Mohammad Naim Yaakub. The purpose of the visit is to learn more about the activities of CPSC and to explore areas of mutual cooperation, especially in the conduct of training programs, seminars, workshops, and conferences, for ISTE members both teachers and students alike.

ISTE is a national, professional, non-profit making society which assists and contributes in the production and development of top quality professional engineers and technicians needed by the industries and other organizations in India. It has an active membership of more than 80,000 technical teachers, 425,000 student members, 2,200 institutional members, 1,050 faculty chapters, 1,100 student chapters, and 16 sections throughout the country. Dr. R. Murugesan, presently heading Anna University of Technology Madurai as Vice-Chancellor, took over as President on January 2, 2012 for a 3-year term.

The discussion generated achievable undertakings which are hoped to be realized in the near future, such as joint conduct of customized programs and international conferences, student/staff exchange, and a possibility to hold programs to train ISTE faculty members to become accreditors of the Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC), the accreditation body for TVET in the Asia Pacific region being run by CPSC. The meeting ended with a tour of CPSC facilities and with a promise from both parties to coordinate closely after this first meeting.
