The Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) strengthened its engagement with Myanmar on Aug 12, 2026, through a courtesy visit by the CPSC Director General Prof. (Dr.) Suresh K. Dhameja to the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Her Excellency Mrs. Daw Ei Ei Tin.
During the visit, Dr. Dhameja warmly welcomed the ambassador as the newest member of the CPSC Governing Board. He introduced her to the Staff College’s mandate, functions, programs, activities, and various services for its member countries. He highlighted CPSC’s implementation of regional and in-country training programs, including face-to-face programs conducted in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and South Korea.
Dr. Dhameja further shared with the Ambassador CPSC’s planned online in-country program for Myanmar. He highlighted that eventual resumption of face-to-face programs in Myanmar would provide greater opportunities for TVET professionals to benefit from CPSC’s capacity-building initiatives. He also introduced the Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC) and highlighted opportunities for Myanmar to benefit from its accreditation services.
Ambassador Mrs. Ei Ei Tin expressed her appreciation for the warm welcome and briefing on CPSC’s programs and services. She conveyed Myanmar’s continued support and cooperation with CPSC and expressed her intention to communicate the College’s proposals to the authorities in Myanmar.
The courtesy visit concluded with Dr. Dhameja conveying his sincere appreciation to the Ambassador for accommodating the visit and for her continued support and partnership with CPSC. Both expressed wishes of continued cooperation between CPSC and Myanmar in advancing capacity development through TVET.
