The CPSC Director General, Prof. G.L.D Wickramasinghe, accompanied by CPSC Executive Secretary Mr. Jan Michael Marasigan, made a courtesy call to the Embassy of the Republic of India in Manila on April 6, 2022.

The courtesy call was embarked to meet the head of mission personally and discuss current and future programs of CPSC to its member countries, and express his appreciation for the support given to the Staff College.

They were received by the Embassy Counsellor (Political), Ms. Manisha Swami, and the Ambassador, H.E. Shambhu S. Kumaran.

During the meeting, Prof. Wickramasinghe informed the Ambassador of the recent activities of CPSC that benefited India such as the 2 In-Country Programs conducted with the Ministry of Education and NITTTR Kolkata and Chennai, and the online Regional Programs in collaboration with Labtech International and Toyota Motor Philippines, wherein trainers from India participated in.

In addition, he also discussed the plans of CPSC in conducting face-to-face training in the future, as well as the need for a seconded faculty consultant, in which he hopes that India can provide support as they have in the previous years. He also briefed the Ambassador on his planned meetings with former and potential CPSC members, as a continuation of his courtesy visits to strengthen CPSC’s network.

In response, Amb. Kumaran congratulated Prof. Wickramasinghe for his appointment as the 12th CPSC Director General and extended his appreciation for CPSC’s constant connection to the institutions in India. He also expressed his support for the endeavors of the Staff College and his willingness to be of help to CPSC’s plans for the future.
