On July 25, 2012, the CPSC Director General Dr. Mohammad Naim Yaakub attended the 277th Colombo Plan Council Meeting held at the Colombo Plan Secretariat, Colombo, Sri Lanka. The Council took up seven agenda items including the Biennial Report of CPSC covering fiscal years 2009 – 2010 and 2010 – 2011.
Dr. Naim apprised the Council of the progress made from July 2009 to June 2011 where he reported the conduct of 70 capacity building programs which registered the participation of 3,225 participants. He also provided an overview of the operational achievements of CPSC and highlighted the various academic and administrative impacts of CPSC’s programs at the country, regional and global levels. Aside from the report, a brief background on CPSC was presented by the Director General for the benefit of new council members.
Colombo Plan Council Meetings are held 4 times a year which are presided by the Council President. CPSC is being invited every 2 years to present 2-year accomplishment reports. The 277th session was presided by H.E. Mahbub-Uz-Zaman, Colombo Plan Council President and High Commissioner of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Colombo and attended by representatives of Colombo Plan member countries.
