About CPSC

The Colombo Plan Staff College for Technician Education (CPSC) is an Inter-governmental International Organization for Human Resources Development. It aims to assist its member countries in developing and enhancing their technical education systems.

CPSC maintains the active membership of 16 countries that are provided with capacity-building programs in technical and vocational education and training (TVET).

The main functions of CPSC include:
  • Provide training programs of further professional education and training to persons responsible for the planning, development, administration, and supervision of TVET and persons in key supporting roles;
  • Conduct conferences, symposia, and workshops on various aspects of TVET;
  • Manage customized programs on TVET planning, development, and evaluation;
  • Undertake research and development projects for knowledge sharing and benchmarking in TVET;
  • Assist member countries in developing their technical teacher education and training facilities;
  • Collect and disseminate information on technical education and training; and
  • Act as a facilitator of member countries in the transformation of the TVET framework by modifying the training and development strategies, program offerings, and research and development efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Training Assistant

The Training Assistant provides administrative support to all facets of the Training and Development Division’s work. He/she assists the Training Officer in planning and preparing the requirements for the implementation of regular and extra-budgetary programs of the Staff College.

Specific Duties
  • Collect program evaluation feedback and list of suggested programs for the annual program planning; facilitate the collection of program proposals from member countries; and assist Training Officer in preparing the annual program catalog;
  • Prepare program planning frameworks and special orders for regional, in-country, and special programs, in consultation with the Training Officer;
  • Prepare and send various program communications and coordination letters (invitations, confirmation and coordination letters, acceptance, confirmation of travel arrangements, appreciation letters, etc), and prepare subsequent responses as deemed necessary;
  • Prepare program-related materials such as registration and datasheet forms, certificates, IDs, nameplates, and training supplies (pen, paper, markers, etc); collect and assemble all program materials needed prior to program implementation;
  • Format relevant program and other instructional materials prepared by the program coordinators and resource persons according to standards (e.g. program books, theme papers, tasks, ppt presentations);
  • Coordinate and prepare documentary requirements for travel arrangements (visa and ticketing) of international program participants, professional staff, and external resource persons, in consultation with the Training Officer;
  • Provide assistance and attend to participants' various concerns during programs;
  • Assist program coordinator in preparing end-of-program reports;
  • Organize and maintain program-related records and documents;
  • Assist Training Officer in preparing TDD periodic reports (annual and mid-year reports, KPI);
  • Undertake APACC Documentation Officer assignment from time to time;
  • Perform other tasks and duties as may be assigned

Qualifications and Requirements

Education and Experience

University Degree in administration and management, education, communication, social or development studies, or any related fields.

Remuneration and Benefits
  • Starting gross monthly salary: Php 26,000 to Php 33,000 depending on the applicant’s qualifications

Duration of Contract
