CPSC Faculty presents paper at TESDA program on Advanced TQM
Prof. Rajesh P. Khambayat, CPSC Faculty Consultant presented a series of academic papers at the training program on Advanced and Total Quality Management (TQM) in Vocational and Technical Colleges to senior academicians of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, organized by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Manila, Philippines from 16-20 July, 2009 and 6-10 August 2009.
The program was a collaborative project between TESDA and the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The training was organized for the Vice Deans of TVTC whereby 18 Vice Deans attended in two batches. Among the themes discussed and expounded was the topic on “TVET Excellence: Concepts, Principles and Approaches, Quality Assurance in TVET through Accreditation”. The line-up of activity during the training program also included conduct of Live Audit for Accreditation of a selected TVET institution.
Active discussions regarding TVET excellence followed by experiential learning for conducting accreditation took place during the program. Further, a road map for TVTC’s preparedness was designed, and this facilitated the expression of plans and opinions regarding future exchange of programs and activities. There was keen interest to expand in all respects the cooperation, mutual understanding and long-term bilateral relations among TESDA, TVTC and CPSC.
Theme papers presented during the program covered TVTC’s focal thrust areas under the TVET project, with emphasis on transforming the country’s current TVET systems through quality management and quality assurance systems.
