Bangladesh’s Ministry of Primary & Mass Education Officials visit CPSC

The Colombo Plan Staff College for Technician Education (CPSC) welcomed delegates of the study visit from the Bureau of Non-Formal Education, Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, last April 14, 2010. The visit was intended to get the Bangladesh senior officials acquainted with CPSC programs and activities and the links of CPSC’s work in TVET with non-formal education systems development. The delegation of 10 officials was headed by Mr. Nishith Kumar Sarker, Joint Secretary for MPME, and was in the Philippines on study tour under the Post Literacy and Continuing Education for Human Development (PLCEDH – 2) Project.
Delegates were formally welcomed by CPSC led by Prof. TJ Tesoro–Gayondato, OIC and Chairman, Projects and Consultancy Division, along with other Academic Board Members and staff. The welcome program highlighted CPSC and its role in regional accreditation in TVET through the Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC), and the development of CPSC’s Web Based Teaching and Learning System, presented by Professor Gayondato and Mr. Michael Henry Montero, ICT Officer of CPSC.
The PLCEDH – 2 aims to maintain and upgrade the literacy skills of about 1.6 million neo literates in post literacy and continuing education programs and help develop their life pattern by increasing their income through provision of technical skills training.
