The Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) Governing Board (GB) convened its 102nd session on January 25, 2017 at CPSC Manila, Philippines. The Board took up six agenda items as follows: Adoption of the Agenda, Adoption of the Minutes of the 101st GB Meeting held on June 23, 2016, Summary of Actions Taken based on Board Decisions and Business Arising, Report of External Audit of CPSC’s Financial Statements for FY 2015 – 2016, Report of CPSC Activities and Financial Status (Mid-Year Report for FY 2016 – 2017), Report of the Standing Committee on various matters of the Staff College.
The Chairperson of the CPSC GB and Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Philippines H.E. Aruni Ranaraja presided the meeting. It was attended by the Chargé d’ Affaires of the Embassy of People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Chargé d’ Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of India, Chargé d’ Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Union of Myanmar, Director General of CPSC, representatives from Embassies of Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand, and representatives from the Office of the United Nations and other International Organizations, Department of Foreign Affairs and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
The new CPSC Director General Dr. Ramhari Lamichhane apprised the Board on the activities and accomplishments of the Staff College in the first half of FY 2016 – 2017 with the Mid-Year Report. He reported on the implementation of regional programs, in-country programs, customized programs and study visits, special collaborative programs, activities related to the Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC), as well as the Professional Internship Program for International Experience (PIPIE).
All the agenda items presented were disposed. In her concluding remarks, GB Chairperson H.E. Aruni Ranaraja expressed her appreciation to the Board of members for their cooperation and active participation.
The 103rd GB Meeting will be held on June 22, 2017 (Thursday).
