CPSC Welcomes New Director General from Nepal, New DG Aspires for Better Momentum for CPSC

The Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) is delighted to welcome the first Nepalese and the 11th Director General of CPSC, Dr. Ram Hari Lamichhane upon his arrival to Manila on August 31, 2016.

Expressing his aspirations for a better momentum for the future of the College, the new Director General enjoined all the staff to work together, pursue greater contributions and provide solid support to the endeavors of the College in achieving its vision and in proving CPSC's mark as an excellent regional organization. He also expressed his thanks for the warm welcome and hospitality during the first faculty and staff meeting held on September 1, 2016.

Prof. Dr. G. Kulanthaivel welcomed the Dr. Lamichhane on behalf of the CPSC faculty and staff. Prof. Dr. GK relinquished his responsibilities as Acting Director General to the new DG as he assumed the charge conferred to him by the CPSC Governing Board. Prof. Dr. GK mentioned latest accomplishments of the College and turned over some administrative documents to the newly appointed DG. He also handed over to the Director General the key to the Office of the Director General as a symbolic way of turning over leadership.

Dr. Lamichhane hails from Makawanpur, Nepal and had served as Member Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) in Kathmandu, Nepal (2013-2016) prior to his appointment as CPSC DG. He had also been the Director of the Technical Division of CTEVT and worked as a Project Manager for the ADB-Funded Skills for Employment Project (SEP), in Kathmandu, Nepal (2007-2010). He had taken charge of various international projects in some countries as Manager and Coordinator since 2000. He had also been in the academe as Principal of Pokhara Tourism Training Center, Pokhara, Nepal (1996-2000) and as Instructor of different technical schools in the country.

The new DG earned a Doctor of Philosophy on Education Leadership from Kathmandu University in Nepal (2000-2006). He has a degree on Educational Administration, Planning and Policy as a Humphrey/Fullbright Professional from Peabody College/Vanderbilt University, Tennessee, USA (2010-2011). Dr. Lamichhane obtained his Master in Business Management (MBA) (1989-1990) and his Bachelor in Commerce degrees from (1987-1988) from Tribhuwan University, Kathmandu Nepal.

Dr. Ram as how he would like to be called was born on April 08, 1966, married and with two children.

The CPSC Governing Board, Officials from CPSC member countries, development partners and guests are set to formally welcome and personally congratulate the new DG in an upcoming CPSC event.
