The Acting DG was in Singapore from May 9-11, and 13, 2016 to supervise the CPSC-Singapore Joint Training Program on Leaders in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and took the opportunity to meet officials of above-mentioned ministries.
The meetings were organized to update the Singapore government regarding the latest programs and activities of CPSC and explore various areas for future cooperation. The visits also opened an opportunity for CPSC and the ministries to exchange institutional information and expound on any mutual benefits for their organizations.
Dr. Kulanthaivel was received by Mr. Heng Aik Yeow, Director General (Technical Cooperation), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), on his visit on May 11, 2016. Mr. Yeow emphasized the importance of Singapore's continued cooperation in ensuring the economic and social development of countries in the region and affirmed CPSC's role in that aspect. He also encouraged CPSC to further strengthen its advocacy of changing TVET's image and regularly push for the continuous upgrade of skills and capacities of TVET institutions and students.
His visit to the Ministry of Education (MOE) had been equally fruitful as the visit to MFA. He was received by Mr. Calvin Chong, Senior Deputy Director for Planning and International Cooperation of the Planning Division and the current Liaison Officer of the Government of Singapore to CPSC.
