CPSC Signs MOA on Special Internship Program with PKNU’s Agency of Global Development and Cooperation for Fisheries

In an opportune time of renewing ties and reinvigorating partnerships, the Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) and PuKyong National University (PKNU) signified official accord and a promise for more collaborative undertakings in the future through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing for the Special Internship program facilitated by CPSC. The signing was held during the visit of PKNU's Agency of Global Development and Cooperation for Fisheries (Global DCF) on January 13, 2016 to the College.

Representing CPSC, Prof. Dr. G. Kulanthaivel, Acting Director General, and Dr. Sang-Go Lee Director of the Agency affixed their signature to the MOA during the visit of the latter. Both expressed delight in the significant opportunity for rekindled ties through the special internship program and agreed that such program shall signal the beginning of more programs and projects to jointly venture into.

Dr. Kulanthaivel apart from warmly welcoming the visitors also shared about the programs, activities, projects and prospects of the College. He assured the Agency that the team was giving its best efforts for a quality, well-coordinated and meaningful internship program for the DCF students. He also wished that CPSC's partnership with PKNU will prosper in its mutual aspiration to contribute in producing well-rounded and globally-attuned young individuals armed with world class knowledge and skills and be active professionals of the global society in the future.

Dr. Lee, on the other hand in his special message, expounded the vision and missions of Global DCF which include developing young professionals for them to learn for the future of their country through the marine fisheries sector; creating and providing opportunity for the youth in preparing for the long journey waiting for them in the future; promote international understanding; enhance professional skills and produce excellent professionals who will fulfill the visions of their country. In all these, he said that he believes that CPSC will be very helpful in the realization of these missions, particularly, in molding their young generation into global leaders of the future. Dr. Lee was with Ms. Ara Cho, Director and International Cooperation Manager of the agency who assisted Dr. Lee in sharing about their missions and long term goals.

CPSC team led by Dr. GK warmly welcomed the visit of Global DCF which was intended to pave the way for more young professionals training in the future.
