Opportunities for Collaboration Explored by CPSC, ADB

The CPSC Officer-in-charge Prof. Dr. G. Kulanthaivel, CPSC Short-Term Faculty Consultant, Dr. Romulita Alto and CPSC Training Officer, Ms. Casey Alvarez, met with the Social Sector Specialist of the Asian Development Bank, Ms. Karina Veal at the CPSC Headquarters on September 21, 2015 to discuss possible opportunities for collaboration.

Ms. Veal apprised Prof. Dr. Kulanthaivel on the efforts being done by ADB in promoting skills development in the Asia-Pacific region. She specifically requested CPSC’s assistance on some of the anticipated programs of the ADB including the upcoming 5th International Skills Forum which will happen during first week of December 2015.

Prof. Dr. Kulanthaivel also shared some of CPSC’s recent activities particularly the upcoming programs such as the Regional Program on Enhancing the Responsiveness of TVET: Post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals and the Eminent Experts Group Meeting (EEGM), both are to be held at the CPSC Headquarters. She was very much interested in these programs and accepted to be resource person for the Regional Program and be an expert during the EEGM.

The brief meeting positively concluded with both sides affirming their commitment to provide assistance for the success of their respective activities.

Ms. Karina Veal joined ADB in mid-2012 and she currently provides support to governments across Asia to improve and expand their education and training systems. She has extensive experience in developing public policy solutions, particularly for skills development, including in post-conflict and post-disaster situations.
