DG Shares CPSC’s Int’l TVET Experiences at Malaysia’s Global Reach Initiative

In further fulfilling its role as a catalyst of change for human resources development in the Asia Pacific and the world at large, CPSC consistently participated in knowledge and experiences sharing in various international fora. The CPSC Director General, Dr. Mohammad Naim Yaakub, on October 25, 2013, participated in the round table discussions during the My Odyssey: Malaysia’s Global Reach Initiative held at Riverside Majestic Hotel Kuching, Malaysia.

Malaysia has been extending its reach to other countries and pursues key stakeholders' input for it to provide enhanced contribution in the development of TVET in view of developing action plans in the next phase of its global outreach. In this light, vital inputs and suggestions were put forward by experts on how Malaysia can best support the development of TVET in other developing countries during the roundtable discussion on Shaping A Specific Technical Familiarisation Programme.

Dr. Naim shared CPSC's experience in regional and international TVET development and underscored that CPSC's vast network and experiences in contributing to harnessing TVET systems in various countries can be leveraged and synergized by all concerned for gaining mutual and significant benefits.

The discussion was facilitated by the session’s Chairperson Prof. Ir. Dr. Rezuwan Haji Kamaruddin, Dean, Academic Affairs, Universiti Malaysia Perlis.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdul Razak Ahmad, Advisor, Malaysia Higher Education Department, imparted the Keynote Address, while Dr. Muzaffar Hamzah, Head of Cluster My Odyssey, Malaysia’s Global Reach Project gave the Welcome Remarks during the event.

Twenty-two (22) experts from Vietnam, Cambodia, Libya, Iran, Syria, Indonesia and Malaysia joined in the sharing of international experiences during the discussion.
